My name is Adam Schell. I am a husband, a father, and the pastor of Melbourne Heights Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
I know that I am far from being the world's greatest preacher. So I didn't create this blog because I hoped it would become a collection of the best sermons ever preached.
Instead, I'm just looking for a way to share God's love and the hope that I have found in Him with as many people as possible. And that's the perspective that this blog comes from. So this is primarily a place for me to share the sermons that I've written with anyone who wants to read them.
And if you'd like to know a little more about me beyond this blog, here are some bullet points to tell you a little more about me.
Anything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Toy Story franchise, Rocky, The Back to the Future Trilogy, The Lion King
Favorite TV Shows:
The Simpson, Seinfeld, The Big Bang Theory, and way too much of what's on HGTV
Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek, Three by Ted Dekker, Raging With Compassion by John Swinton, The Jack Reacher Series by Lee Child, the Percy Jackson Series
I began my tenure as the pastor of Melbourne Heights Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky in November of 2011. Prior to coming to MHBC, I served as the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle from July of 2007 to November of 2011. I've also served as minister to youth at Dry Run Baptist Church (Georgetown, KY) for 2 1/2 years, and worked 3 years as a manager at KB Toys.
I have been married to my wife, Ashley, for almost as long as I've been in ministry. We are the proud parents of our daughter, Hannah, who is growing up way too fast. And we're the puppy parents of a chihuahua mix named Ruby and a golden doodle named Minnie.
I am a 2010 graduate of the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky, where I received my Master of Divinity Degree. I am also a 2004 graduate of Georgetown College, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Religion.
